Class 4 Winds & Renewables Governing Board

Class 4 Winds & Renewables was established by an ad hoc coalition of people and organizations who are interested in the benefits wind development could bring to the Class 4 Winds & Renewables region. The group includes:

• Sherry Kunka, Sharyland Utilities
• James Wester, Underwood Law Firm
• Wes Reeves, Xcel Energy
• Gary Pitner, Panhandle Regional Planning Commission
• Cathy Dixon, University Research Alliance
• Donna Knight, University Research Alliance
• Ken Starcher, Alternative Energy Institute
• Paul Cooke, Cooke Electrical Contracting
• Gene Scivally, Gene Scivally Cattle
• Ross McCausland, Protos Energy Advisory

Collectively, to date, the ad hoc group has:

1. Identified a name for the organization
2. Determined the Class 4 Winds & Renewables goals and objectives
3. Developed a structure for the organization
4. Filed for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status with the IRS
5. Filed for and received state approval for the Class 4 Winds & Renewables name
6. Implemented a founding membership campaign
7. Begun functioning with implementing a series of informational wind seminars
8. Elected a governing board
9. Hired an executive director
